FAQs
Are the meetings with SAFE experts anonymous?
Meetings with experts are anonymous and confidential. We know all the feelings and emotions people feel when they are experiencing any form of abuse. Here you can talk with independent experts in confidence, in a judgment-free zone, and professional space. You can sign up for a meeting with the least possible information needed. We only need a name and a way to contact you. In the meeting, you will necessarily disclose more information - without that, we will not be able to give you relevant guidance. But: None of the information you provide will be disclosed anywhere, and all data we receive from you is anonymized.
Do I have to pay for the service you provide?
SAFE’s counselling service and advice is free. If you are here, you have already made a big step. Most probably you are becoming aware that something is not quite right and rather disrespectful to your personal integrity. Most probably you are about to be ready to get some help out of this situation. Our experts will give you an overview of the options you have - and the consequences thereof.
What happens after I talk to an expert?
You are the one taking the decision. SAFE’s lawyers and psychologists are the leading experts in their fields in Greece and beyond. They will give you concrete advice about what to do. Other than when talking to public authorities however, you are the one taking the decision which path you want to follow. Whatever decision you take, we will be with you along the way - if you’d like.
How do I know if I should talk to a lawyer or psychologist first?
We follow a holistic service approach. No matter who you decide to talk to first, a psychologist or lawyer, chances are high they will advise you to talk to their respective counterparts. In any case, our lawyers receive psychological training and our psychologists receive legal training, so that both understand the full context.
